About the Event
The Patriot Auto 2026 Night of Scholars and Champions banquet was held on May 5th, bringing together community members, educators, and families to celebrate academic excellence. This year's event was memorable as we honored students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their education and communities.
Families from Broken Arrow, OK were among those who participated in the event. The highlight of the evening came when Amina Washington was named our 2026 Patriot Auto Student of the Year, earning the top honors for her remarkable accomplishments both inside and outside the classroom.
The Top Prize
Miss Washington's dedication to excellence earned her incredible rewards that will support her future endeavors. As the Student of the Year, she received a 2026 Chevrolet Trax, giving her reliable transportation as she begins the next chapter of her life. In addition, she was awarded a $10,000 scholarship from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, renewable for up to four years.
Beyond academics, Miss Washington serves as the FCCLA state vice president of community service and is the volleyball captain at Oklahoma Union. Her leadership and commitment to serving others made her the ideal recipient of this year's top honors. Community members traveling from Owasso, OK were able to witness her well-deserved recognition.
Other Prizes
The Night of Scholars and Champions also recognized several other deserving students for their achievements. The first runner-up, Jackson Boudreaux, received a $1,000 scholarship from Oklahoma Wesleyan University, while the second runner-up, Mashayla Brown, was also awarded a scholarship of equal value. These scholarships are renewable each year for up to four years, providing ongoing support for their education.
The STEM Student of the Year, Griffin Salerno, earned a generous $5,000 scholarship from ConocoPhillips, recognizing excellence in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Students from Coffeyville, KS, were among the talented individuals who attended this year's banquet.
